Focus: Government Philosophy
Efficient Government, Individual Liberty
Practical principles that respect individual liberty, promote efficient government, and empower citizens to make their own choices.

A Practical Approach to Government
I believe in the fundamental principle that government should focus on its essential functions: protecting individual rights, maintaining public safety, and providing necessary infrastructure. Government should be efficient and effective, allowing individuals, families, and businesses to thrive.
My Limited Government Principles
Core beliefs that guide my approach to governance
Respect for Individual Liberty
Government should protect individual rights, not restrict them. Citizens should be free to make their own choices about their lives, businesses, and families.
Minimal Regulation
Reduce unnecessary regulations that stifle innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth while maintaining essential safety standards.
Fiscal Restraint
Government should live within its means, avoid excessive spending, and ensure every tax dollar is used efficiently and effectively.
Local Control
Decisions should be made at the most local level possible, closest to the people they affect.
Transparency & Accountability
Government operations should be open, transparent, and accountable to the citizens they serve.
Eliminate Waste
Identify and eliminate wasteful spending, redundant programs, and inefficient government processes.
What Limited Government Means in Practice
As a County Board member, I will apply these principles to every decision:
Budget Decisions
Every spending proposal will be carefully evaluated. Is this essential? Is it the most efficient way to achieve the goal? Can the private sector handle this better?
Regulatory Review
Regularly review county regulations and ordinances to identify unnecessary restrictions that can be removed or simplified to reduce burdens on citizens and businesses.
Privatization Opportunities
Look for opportunities where private sector solutions can provide better service at lower cost than government-run programs.
Eliminate Redundancy
Identify and eliminate duplicate programs, overlapping services, and bureaucratic inefficiencies that waste taxpayer dollars.
Individual Liberty & Personal Responsibility
Limited government goes hand-in-hand with individual liberty. When government steps back, individuals have the freedom to:
- Start and run businesses without excessive government interference
- Make personal decisions about their families, health, and lifestyle
- Keep more of their hard-earned money through lower taxes
- Choose how to educate their children and care for their families
With this freedom comes personal responsibility. I believe in empowering individuals to make their own choices while expecting them to take responsibility for the consequences of those choices.
Reagan's Legacy & Modern Application
Ronald Reagan famously said, "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." While that may sound harsh, the principle remains true: government should be a last resort, not a first option.
Conservative Principles in Action
My approach to limited government isn't about being anti-government—it's about being pro-freedom. I believe government has important, essential functions, but those functions should be clearly defined, efficiently executed, and constantly reviewed to ensure they're still necessary and effective.
